Tampa Bay's nightlife scene heats upWhen the sun goes down,. Bay Area bands crank out reggae, rock, blues, country, punk, salsa and jazz at clubs and bars all over town. New on the party scene as trendy spots for a sophisticated crowd are Channelside and International Plaza's Bay Street. SoHo is a trendy site to mix and mingle while Ybor City is largely considered party central in Tampa Bay. On weekend nights, Ybor's 7th Avenue is closed to cars as up to 40,000 fun-seekers converge on the district in search of a good time, and music flows out into the avenues creating a street party atmosphere. It is no wonder Tampa is considered the "Nightlife Capital of Florida's West Coast."
